L.B.D

When talking about little black dress, the most common thing that will pop into people's mind is the dress which is most essential in any woman's wardrobe. The little black dress transcends trends and time, always the right thing to wear no matter the occasion.Undoubtedly, the little black dress has a much lauded history. However, for me the novel little black dress written by Loren D.Estleman will come into my mind.Opening the book is like cracking a can of coca-cola on a hot day, from the first taste its so delicious and goes down so smoothly that you know you in for an eminently satisfying experience. This novels revolves around the main character Peter Macklin,an ex hitman and his struggles trying to adjust to a newly married life and all that entails including new home, difficult mother in law and her significant half,Benjamin Grinnel. The novel takes an unexpected turn when Macklin discover that Benjamin is a spotter for a gang of armed robbery.Macklin driven by his professional curiosity and his desire to protect his family cant help but get involved. As he investigates Benjamin's dark past he gets tangled up with Benjamin's enemies including the Ohio mob and the law.I had the time of my life reading this novel.Loren D.Estleman is definitely a genius storyteller who can easily engage his readers with acerbic wit and dry affection. For those who haven't got a chance to read this novel,do it ASAP! Enjoyment is guaranteed.

2010

Ah...January.The first month of the year,a month of resolutions,a month of new hope and dreams.Just as I'm recovering from the festives of Christmas,I have to jump right into the merry making mode of of the new year.As I held a bubbly welcome to 2009 little could I have imagined that it was going to be a year of major changes to me.Everything from my personal life to relationship and life path took somehow a somersault! But as I write this in the midst of celebrating the arrival of the brand new year ,I've come to fully understand the importance of accepting and believing that everything happens for a reason. And Yes,there's always a silver lining at the end of every challenge and Yes,there's always a consolation even if you fail. The lesson's I've learn in the past years are those which absolutely no book can teach me.As I take the path of 2010,here is my fervent aim:To live life as there is no tomorrow! There is nothing like planning ahead to get us started on something. That's the great thing about new beginnings,we get to decide how we want to live our life,no matter we abide by the rules or not. So,here's to silver linings and a great year ahead.CHEERS
